Skillfully imitating "white" (palest celadon) nephrite
jade, this impressive bottle dates from the early 1900s, late
Qing dynasty or early Republic period. The front deeply carved
with a Gold Fish and Lotus pod, the fish's tail wrapping under
to the rear, Lotus roots on the left, Lingzhi on the side, accented
with realistic caramel colored side imitating the jade underskin.
This bottle is well hollowed. Brass mouth rim, blue Peking Glass
stopper with brass rim, finial, and spoon, the stopper likely
of more recent date.
