An entire flattened cobble of alluvial (river jade) white nephrite with brown and russet veining, carved as two Deer under a tree, entering from the right, clouds above. Possibly a Monkey riding the larger, rightmost Deer. Carved using older methods in a very "soft" and almost "impressionist" style as if seen through the mountain mist. Another view here. Older work, not later than early 20th century and possibly much earlier. From a fine West Coast collection long ago. A fine example of older Yu Shan jade mountain for your collection at a very reasonable price.
