The well-carved resting dog looking backwards, floppy ears, thick curling tail in the Tang dynasty manner, paws carved beneath, the nephrite jade partially altered to "chicken-bone white" (jigubai), accented with black patches on reverse. Soft, satiny polish. Early 20th C. carving.
